Grimlock was a central character in the Transformers universe. Whether it was the comic, cartoon, or toy, he always took center stage. As leader of the Dinobots, he was the strongest and most respected. He is my personal favorite amongst the Dinobots. |

Originally, in the cartoon, Grimlock, Slag and Sludge were the first three Dinobots created. Later, Snarl and Swoop were created and joined the team. Grimlock was unquestionably the leader from day one. This probably was due to him being the strongest of the Dinobots. The rest of the Dinobots always seemed to follow Grimlock, whether or not Grimlock's leadership was in direct opposition to Optimus Prime's. Grimlock and the Dinobots made regular appearances on the cartoon before Transformers: The Movie. Afterwards, only Grimlock remained in the forefront, while the rest of the Dinobots only made cameos. |
| Grimlock as a toy is pretty damn cool. He is fairly true to his cartoon counterpart and is a well designed piece. Transformation is not all that difficult, but it does offer some cool features. As a dinosaur, Grimlock's mouth is on a hinge so that you recreate his chomping action. Both his arms and Legs are articulated in this mode. In robot form, he looks awesome as well. He is articulated at the shoulders and hips (somewhat). Grimlock comes equipped with an energo sword, rocket launcher (with three missiles) and a double-barreled blaster. All in all, Grimlock's toy version grades out at an A - . |
