While it is common knowledge that all of the Dinobots were stupid, Sludge's intelligence level was low even by Dinobot standards. His absurd stupidity actually got to be pretty annoying at times. But, looking past this, you will find that Sludge is still a damn cool character - if for no other reason than because he is a Dinobot. |

Along with Grimlock and Slag, Sludge was on of the three original Dinobots created by Wheeljack and Ratchet. Incredibly stupid, even for a Dinobot, Sludge followed Grimlock's orders without question - even when they were in opposition to Optimus Prime's. Sludge's main weapon seemed to be creating earthquakes, and fissures in the earth by stomping his foot, having pretty much the same effect as Rumble's piledrivers. Sludge also seemed to be able to breathe fire in Dinobot mode. Along with all of the Dinobots, save for Grimlock, Sludge's role in the cartoon became almost nonexistent after Transformers: The Movie, appearing only a couple of times in cameo roles. |
| Sludge's toy is middle of the road in comparison to the other Dinobots; while he is not the coolest, he definitely isn't as bad as Slag. I always felt that Sludge got the shitty end of the stick when it came time for handing out Dinosaur forms to the Dinobots. A Brontosaurus definitely isn't the coolest Dino. Therefore, Dinobot mode isn't Sludge's strong point in toy form, although it is fairly true to his cartoon version. Once in robot mode, Sludge starts to grow on you. He looks very nice and, once again, very similar to his cartoon self. Sludge comes equipped with a rifle, rocket launcher, three rockets, and an energo sword for accessories. In closing, while Sludge doesn't blow me away, I still would recommend him to add to your collection. Overall grade of B-. |
