Computron is probably my second favorite Gestalt of all time (the first, of course, being Superion). Unfortunately, not a lot was seen of this combiner, as he was introduced at the tail end of the Transformers stranglehold on the toy industry. |

While Grimlock was endowed with super-intelligence, he constructed the Technobots from material procured from Unicron's head during a battle with the Decepticons and Terrorcons. The Technobots engaged the Terrorcons in battle, but after they formed Abominus, they had no idea what to do, and had to consult Grimlock. Grimlock then told them of their ability to form a Gestalt, and commanded them to do so. Once they merged, he transferred his super-intelligence to it, and dubbed it Computron. Computron then proceeded to use this intelligence to defeat Abominus's brute force. The two teams met again some time later, with the same result. The Technobots proved to be valuable assets to the Autobot forces in times to come, but since they were introduced very near to the end of the series' run, we didn't see that much of them. |
| Computron is an extremely well constructed toy. I would rank him as the best designed Gestalt of the Transformers toy line. He is probably the most expensive mainstream, conventional Gestalt (excluding Predaking) on the aftermarket today. Like Abominus, Computron is a little bit larger than most of the conventional Gestalts, but unlike the Decepticon combiner, he doesn't have the same awkward look about him. The only flaw in Computron's design would have to be the way that Scattershot's legs stick out so far behind him. This gives a little bit of a strange appearance from the side...but a very minor concern overall. Computron comes armed with Scattershot's acid pellet rifle. In conclusion, I don't think that there is/was a finer Gestalt made than Computron. While Superion will always be my favorite, Computron is every bit an A+ Gestalt. |
