Scattershot |

Scattershot wasn't in very many Transformers episodes. Therefore it is hard to really make a snap judgement about him. From what was seen of him, he seemed like a decent, although not outstanding, character. Of course, he was no Silverbolt ; ) |

Scattershot didn't have the type of personality you'd expect from a Gestalt team leader. He was reckless, displayed a lack of confidence, and was not very cerebral in devising his battlefield tactics. When Grimlock appointed Scattershot as team leader, he never explained his reasoning behind it. Furthermore, Scattershot never seemed to give any commands to his teammates, leading me to believe that it was not really in his nature to be a leader. Scattershot was the first, and presumably the only, team leader to use his "third transformation mode" (Scattershot's third mode was that of a battle platform) in the cartoon (during the Technobots' first meeting with the Terrorcons). Scattershot did seem to gain more composure as the episodes progressed. |
Scattershot's toy is really a cut above all the other Gestalt team leaders, in my opinion. In space cruiser mode, Scattershot's nosecone springs open after pressing a button, and reveals a hidden cannon - cool effect. He also has retractable front landing gear. Once transformed, Scattershot is HUGE - Head and shoulders above the other team leaders. One look, and you remark at how solidly Scattershot is put together. He comes with two guns that insert into his shoulders, Computron's acid pellet rifle, head, feet, fists, and chestplate. While Silverbolt is my favorite Team leader, Scattershot runs a close second. Overall grade of A. |
