Abominus |

I have always felt that the concept behind the Terrorcons was absurd. I mean, c'mon, Monsters? Hasbro must have really been reaching with this one. Somehow, they worked it into the Transformers universe, however, and the rest is history. Needless to say, I am not a big fan of this team. |

In the cartoon timeline, the Terrorcons were another Gestalt team that really didn't have any type of formal introduction....they just showed up to battle one episode. In that episode (Grimlock's New Brain), they played the antithesis of the Technobots. Abominus himself was a vicious brute of a Gestalt that was pure savage ferocity embodied in one Transformer. However, he seemed to continuously loose battles with Computron, due to his low level of intelligence. As he was portrayed, he was probably a better warrior than Predaking in the cartoon. |
Surprisingly enough, Abominus himself isn't too bad of a toy. He is a fairly large Gestalt (like Computron), and is solidly constructed. It is when you separate Abominus into his individual parts that you run into some problems, in my opinion. Abominus suffers from Superion's "skinny thigh syndrome", and is somewhat out of proportion with himself. However, as stated, as a Gestalt he looks decent. He comes equipped with a chest plate, Hun-gurr's rifle, and a pretty rad color scheme. Feeling generous, I award him an overall grade of B-. |
